Lee’s goal and vision is to support made in the US products by featuring local artisans, creating pieces such as their popular “tobacco stick stars”, made with tobacco sticks from TN, and going “green” by re-purposing vintage and antique furniture.
This cedar chest was created by an ESK grandparent! The prime wood species is African Sapele, with Aromatic Cedar laminated on the inside and used for the base. The cedar provides protection of the contents and a fresh aroma. The main joinery is blind dovetails, designed to last for generations. A molded foot and base molding add an air of sophistication to the piece. The top has been mounted with the latest technology, "Lid-Stay Torsion hinges", which enables the top to stay open at any angle. It is finished on the outside with clear lacquer, which emphasizes the outstanding grain pattern in the wood. The inside is left natural to capture the fragrance of the wood. This is truly a beautifully hand crafted chest which will be a lasting heirloom for its owner.
